Jiayu G3 – Specs Review: Dual Core 4.5-inch IPS Android ICS Dual SIM 3G
The Jiayu G3 is the successor of the MT6575 Jiayu G2 Android phone that became popular to many users since it was out in the market due to its great specs, good performance and beautiful looking design. Now, Jiayu brings us the G3 and it offers more with its MT6577 dual-core chipset.

Jiayu G3
Here’s the rundown of what might set your interest with the Jiayu G3:
It has a MT6577 Dual Core 1.0GHz chip and powered by PowerVRTM SGX Series5 3D GPU. With this on board, it is assured that the Jiayu G3 runs smoothly, with nearly no lags at all. It is able to play a lot of games, even 3D and HD games with no problems. It is also capable on rendering high quality multimedia video files.
It also comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) out of the box with supported languages listed as follows: English, Italian, French. Spanish, Russian, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, German, Indonesian, Chinese, Turkish, Portuguese, Malay, others.
You will never be short of its 1GB RAM that allows you to do multi-tasking or multi-app using at ease. Its built-in 4GB ROM also gives you more storage space, however still able to expand via the use of a Micro SD Memory Card (TF-Card), supporting 32GB maximum.
Its 4.5 inch IPS Capacitive Multi-touch Screen outshines any other 4.3″ Android smartphones. Best if you desire a bigger screen but not too much like a 5″ one. Its HD resolution at 1280 x 720 pixels makes it more a value for your money as you can not always find a 4.5″ screen having that pixel density on the $180 price tag. With this in sight, its 16 million colors display quality is very vivid and crisp; very good and pleasing to the eye.
What makes the Jiayu G3 more impressive is its set of snappers. The rear is a 8.0 megapixel with Auto Focus and LED Flash camera. While the front snapper captures really fine photos at 2.0 megapixel. This is not ordinary, as per other devices just have a VGA front-facing shooters at 0.3megapixels. Expect clearer pixels display on self portrait shots or video calls.
The Jiayu G3 is juiced up with a 2750 mAh Li-ion battery. With this in pack, expect longer battery charge life. This might take quite some few days before you ran out of battery charge. Say, 3-4 days. This beats the newer Lenovo devices (with 2000mAh only) and most of the other Android smartphones as they normally have an only 1650mAh battery rating.

The Jiayu G3 has a thin body with metallic finish for highlights that gives it an elegant look and feel. Simply put, it doesnt look a cheap clone or whatsoever. It looks very much premium and very solid.

hi i wanna ask whats the meaning of unlocked GSM?
it means you can use it with any network’s sim card.
thanks for the info…f u are to ask, which will you choose, Jaiyu G3 or Newman N1? i’m confused which of the two will i buy…hehehe…
it depends on you, both are nice, but (I bet you already read about my post http://techideki.com/jiayu-g3-vs-newman-n1/ )
Apparently Jiayu G3 have had some screen problems regarding Quality Control, and some people reported that Jiayu G3 Screens was either twisted morphed or loosely placed.
Soo in short its another week or even months of delay
also heard of that, but I read from other sites that it was posted in the JiaYu forum that only a very few of the units are unluckily having this problem.
Hello, I’m from Brazil and realized in the purchase mixeshop.
But not yet sent like other sites. You know because they say the delay in sending the JY-G3?
Heard on a screen problem, and why would the devices again manufactures, it proceeds?
Thanks and congratulations for the site is very good
hi. will i have to pay for customs if i have it shipped to the Philippines via EMS?
not sure, no experience with ems, only via reg airmail.
ok. so for reg. airmail, do have to pay fees when you pick up the item from the post office?
in my case, reg airmail had my package sent to our doorsteps by a guy thats i guess is from the post office. he just asked for Php150, which is not bad for me.
hi where can i find this phone at 180 usd ?
Thanks
bro, phone is not available yet on many stocks so its hard to find as of now.
Hi,
im from europe and was wondering if you have warranty on this phone? If its breaks, can i send it back? Where? Are there updates possible?
Thanks,
Andy
I am not sure about the warranty terms, but I think when due to careless handling, and its your responsibility, its not acceptable. meanwhile, if you get a phone damaged or dead on arrival, you can return it but youll pay postage fees. you send it back to where you ordered it, i havent had expeerience on returning a phone so i cant really tell, i am lucky to get such goods in perfect condition. what updates you actually mean? software updates? Like being on JB? from OEM manufacturers I guess there will be none, but except from some brands. One good example is ZOPO. They have a website and continue to give SW/FW updates on their phones. However, there is also a ton of forums/community that talks about these Chinese phones, and development of model specific handsets.^^
hi i can’t find any information about it’s RAM type and google market …. so it has 1Gb ddr2 or ddr3 type of ram?, this device supports Google market? and the last one which is better option to choose now phone with 2 core procesors price up to 220$ with 4,3; 4,5 ; 4,7 screen size , 1gb ram and (better with gorilla glass)
i am not sure but i had a strong feel it has ddr3, and yes Google market is supported. on your last question, its really hard to say which one, there are a lot. it just boils down with the size and design preference as these cheap smartphones runs with mt6577 chipset and other paramters just the same, different only in physical body and some materials used, like screen is gorilla glass. thats it.^^
I really want to buy a Jiayu G3 but don’t know any good vendors, not sure if I should buy it from Fastcardtech, he sells it for 134 pounds but 180 dollars should be 112 pounds? So confusing, hate that you have to pre-order it everywhere else, it’s so expensive now. Maybe I should wait for the Mt6588?
yes its price increased as the demands is very high. the lowest i can find is 220usd from other shops, but still its good to ask the sellers if they have the phone in them as of that moment and they can ship it to you asap after you pay.
my friendly advice, if you still have a phone to use, and you can wait, then the mt6589 quad-core phones is your best shot.
Hi. Good site, makes good reading. Anywhere you can put me on to buy the Jiayu G3, but mostly any idea where I can get a Sundance Kid Dream X MTK6577 dual-core phone? Many thanks.
no idea with the sundance, at you can buy JYG3 fro fct, but i think there are other stores that have it already, but beware with some other saying it on stock. the jyg3 btw has a huge price bump hehe
Hi, I saw one available in http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/7233949/Best+Buy+For+Sale+JIAYU+G3+Gorilla+Glass+Dual+core but its P 11,831.59. Is it too pricey? thanks.
I will say, yes it sure does.
Hello, soon I’ll receive my jiayu. And I’m thinking on changing the original rom to lewa since i’ve seen that it gives better performance, better battery life, better aspect and lots of cool features.
Do you have any experience with lewa os? would you reccomend me keeping the original root or changing to lewa?
Thx
not yet with lewa but with other custom roms on other phones. I think, it is never a bad idea to try other roms, while some other chinese forums reported that the newer update on the g3 rom is better in terms of overall performance. with that in thought, JB is not a bubble dream i suppose.
im into getting a g3 too soon. will let you guys covered on everything about it by then, in terms of tips, tweaks and other stuff. cheers!
Hello ian
I am very confused than jiayu g3, in this post you specify the weight, height, width = Size: 135 x 65 x 10.8 mm
Weight: 121 g
This site
http://ellabo.en.alibaba.com specification = 123 * 62 * 10.8mm and weights 154g
This site http://lazure2.wordpress.com=135 * 65 * 10.8mm
I ask what is the real device?
Thank you
135 x 65 x 10.8 mm is true bro.
I have problems using 3G here in the Philippines..
hi raves, what do you mean? are you not able to have H signal when connected to mobile internet? what network you are using?
I have a H signal but i can’t browse or surf, i already check the the apn settings of my sim “Globe Telecom” prepaid, i tried in my other CP using the same sim and settings and it’s ok.
go check the APN settings, make it sure that there isnt any proxy and IP when you are using the Globe Inet APN settings (http.globe.com.ph) and lastly, be sure you have internet access.
Hello. I’m planning to buy the jiayu G3, but I want to make sure that it works with Telenor. Does it?
know what frequency bands your network supports, if it matches with the posted frequency bands of the g3, it will work.
Yes! They do match. Thank you.
