It is no doubt that the entry-level JiaYu G2 smartphone gained its popularity ever since the G1 and the MT6575 JiaYu G2 was released to the public. The 4″ single-core 1GHz Android ICS phone was sold like hotcakes as it impressed the consumers with its high-end specs, exemplary design and most of all; the very much affordable price.
JiaYu G2 S Plus
The JiaYu G3 is one of the most anticipated MT6577 handset as of now for release. There isnt a definite release date for that monster phone and consumers are now getting impatient so as to think that this G3 might loose its built gusto on people when it was first presented to us.
Now, JiaYu brings us another handset which is the JiaYu G2 S or even called JiaYu G2 plus/Jiayu G2+. Its now on the same and latest MT6577 dual-core CPU. Still, it maintained its design and over-all build quality, for this upgrade it was a hardware pimp up.

JiaYu G2 – back
Looking at the chipset specs, its a high-end smartphone on a price tag of just $168. The MT6577 CPU is a well-tested dual-core chip that is always able to give a smooth, lag-free and fast experience to every Android ICS users that have this CPU hardware. HD gaming or even HQ multimedia processing, this specs can handle those tasks with ease.
To mention, the 1GB RAM gives a lot of beef you can use for multi-tasking. The 4GB is also the same as I have been always mentioning that it can have a possible 2.5GB usable internal storage memory. Accounting into that, you can still expand up your available memory with an external SD card of up to 32GB max.
The IPS screen is a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen, and everything is almost the same as we heard it from different phone units. It is good that the battery capacity is maintained at 2050mAh, which is a rating that can give you more app time with your G2 for a couple of days on a single charging.
This MT6577 version of the JiaYu G2 might be the really same as the older JiaYu G2 with MT6575. I am not very much 100% sure though. This is what I have in mind: its just a G2 with a new CPU chipset, the blazing fast MT6577 dual-core CPU.
This JiaYu G2 plus is already listed and available on Fastcardtech. Check it out on this link. On Fastcardtech, there is an offered free plastic case or jelly/rubber case and free screen guard as freebies. Pre-orders on FCT is noted to ship on around September 5-10.
Not to be confused, the JiaYu G2 S is a different one. It sports a qHD screen at 960×540 pixels with 8MP camera. Everything else is the same. The price and release date is still unknown.
There is also other variation of this G2 that is isnt released yet. I do not get the idea why they have to do this. I mean, they should just went all-out with a G2 that is dual core and qHD.
Its a JiaYu G2 with dual-core MT6577 CPU clocked at 1GHz, running Android 4.0 ICS. Sporting the same WVGA screen at 480×800 pixels resolution. It has 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM. Same 2050mAh battery rating but with just 5.0 megapixels camera. Price is expected to start from just $95.
Somehow, this gives a wow factor. A dual-core at $95? This is crazy! China-made smartphones just keep on getting cheaper and more affordable. Still, the specs is not junk. We now see cheap entry-level smartphones at the face of a JiaYu G2.
