iHTC One X EX – Specs Review: 1GB RAM MT6577 4.7-inch

If you might remember that there was already a HTC One X knock-off with a dual-core MT6577 that is brought to us by the same Chinese iHTC company way back from August this year; now here’s an advanced version of it. Its the iHTC One X EX, take note of the EX in the name!

Let’s check more about its specs, I also have a couple of photos of it to share. Be wowed on how it really looks great as an HTC One X clone!

Short, the iHTC One X EX is just another HTC One X clone. On its overall design, one cannot easily notice that this one is a knock-off. For me, the white version do really looks beautiful. Just a good mod ROM or even just the latest Sense launcher will do the perfect illusion, I suppose.

Highlights: The iHTC ONE X EX showcases a 4.7-inch FWVGA display with 854*480 pixels, equipped with a MTK6577 Dual Core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It is packed with a 1GB RAM and 4GB storage, running Android 4.0.4 OS.

Obviously, the name speaks for itself. Its an HTC One X clone. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box which supports multiple languages.

It sports a dual core MT6577 CPU that is clocked at 1.2GHz. It has a matching PowerVR SGX531 GPU as the norm but which is a really capable SoC pair; so you can expect that there will be no problems on running and playing HD games or even high-quality multimedia files on this device.

It is slated with a 4.7 inch screen, just like the real One X. The screen resolution  outputs a decent ppi score with its FWVGA display at 854*480 pixels. It is a multi-touch capacitive screen.

The snappers set is ordinary at 8.0/0.3 megapixels combo. Good to know that the main camera has auto focus and LED flash; we can expect here very nice shots on well-lit subjects. The front facing camera can do video calls, whether its native 3G video calling or even at Skype.

What it have that the real HTC One X doesnt have is its dual SIM capability. It has dual SIM and supports bands with WCDMA/HSDPA/3G. It is totally unlocked and will work on any carrier anywhere in the world.

Memory set is above average. With the 1GB RAM, you’ll have a better multi-tasking experience, seamlessly use many apps at once and still save yourself from encountering out-of-memory problems. The 4GB ROM is expected to yield a 2.5GB of internal phone memory. This is still expandable with an external SD card of up to 32GB in size.

Another good thing about this iHTC One X is its battery assets. Its a 2400mAh Li-on battery, as the days of phones with below 2000mAh rating is now over. With this packed juice, expect to have more app time and usage session from your single recharge.

Verdict

If you are dying to own a really nice looking HTC One X but you dont have that cash to spend, then this one is the deal! Its really cheap and for its price, but with a great set of specs and you get something that really looks nice for a China phone.

The 1GB RAM is also a plus factor to get this one. Not all MT6577 out there are equipped with this amount of RAM yet they are being sold for more than 200 bucks. This iHTC One X EX at $186 is pretty much a nice deal.
