okay, got the answers from Colonel Zap already, here it is:

If you can access the phone's engineer mode, this method might work:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW5lSVeMC4g
If that doesn't work, the phone definitely needs to rooted, this USUALLY works with most MT6577 phones:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
When you have root access, you'll need a little tool that creates a so called "MP0B_001" file, it needs to copied to this location:
data / nvram / md / NVRAM / NVD_IMEI / MP0B_001
The tool can be found here:

im going to ask my friend colonel zap if he knows a general method on how to change IMEI's. if it says invalid IMEI on your phone, then my assumption for the fix could be it. i will get back to you..

Just for information:
$11 cheaper (also with free shipping) at AliExpress, which is where I bought mine just yesterday. Haven't purchased a lot from them, but everything they've sold me has worked very well and arrived very quickly.

Hi Peter!

1.2GHz is the highest clocked frequency you can get from a MT6577-series Android phone. On normal condition, the MT6577 has 1GHz effective clock speed.

AFAIK, RAM is the one responsible for getting out-of-memory/FC's errors once you started to open a lot of apps simultaneously that uses up all the available usable RAM.

If my understanding is correct, mentioned ROM pertains to the internal memory of the phone, it refers to the ROM installed on board. While saying 4GB ROM, it doesnt means that you will get a 4GB of usable internal storage memory, based on my experience, said phones that has 4GB ROM only has 2-2.5GB of usable internal storage memory. Why does this happens? It is because the ICS ROM files ate the other space on board.

I am kinda confused about the "sd card" and "external sd card" you had mentioned. I just wanted to say that you can have more memory if you use a micro sd card and the device supports even up to 32GB. Its might be a language difference, English isnt my native tongue. Well, sorry for that.

On to the 1GB RAM thing, upon checking other sites that also list this device, I found out that they have it on only 512MB RAM. I will still confirm this on FCT just to make everything cleared.

Well, thanks for dropping by and saying hi. :)

CPU speed: 1GHz or 1.2GHz? Both speeds are mentioned on this web page. Which speed is correct?

You write above:
"The Haipai X710D Evo 4G LTE has a 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM. That is more than enough for an ICS phone. The 1GB RAM allows you to multitask seamlessly and the 4GB ROM gives you more internal storage for your use. Memory can be expanded with a Micro SD Memory Card (TF-Card), MAX support 32GB."

Can you confirm that 1GB RAM is correct?

"4GB ROM" is wrong! That should be 4GB internal storage RAM also referred to as "SD card". This is in fact very poor for such an advanced phone, most other phones from Samsung, HTC, etc now have 8, 16 or even 32GB.

The expanded storge memory up to 32GB is a micro SD card inserted into the phone as is referred to as "external SD card".
