Haier W860

The Haier W860 is housed in a 145x74x9.9mm body, with black and white versions available. Just like the other Android phones, the Haier W860 have the 3-Android buttons. A slight let down to this 5-inch phablet is its display resolution. It might be a cost-cutting to keep the resolution at 854*480 pixels FWVGA.

It is complete with the necessary Android sensors and other hardwares. The front camera is a 2MP shooter. It is equipped with a quad-core MT6589 processor, and runs on Android 4.2.1 JellyBean out of the box. Memory is casual at 512MB RAM and 4GB of ROM. The battery that is packed on it is a 2100mAh which is good.

Overall, the Haier W919 seems a better choice in terms of specs and looks. However, the Haier W860 is far a lot cheaper.

MLAIS MX58

MX58 sports a 5-inch IPS screen at FHD resolution (1920*1080 pixels). The OGS lamination and the 2.5D Globoidal touch screen technology combined on the MX58 effectively enhanced the screen, for more vivid three-dimensional display.

The Mei Lai Shi MX58 is equipped with the MTK MT6589 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. Its snapper set is a 12MP and 2MP shooters. It runs on Android 4.2 JellyBean out of the box and is also packed with a 2500mAh of battery capacity.

This phone uses a customized Android 4.0 interface aimed to become a more user-friendly and easy-to-use Android interface. As its name tag says, the Bovo “filial piety” phone is designed for use by older audiences.

The larger screen at 4.3-inch is an IPS screen for more convenience of its target users. It is on a WVGA resolution and the back is made of non-slip material. It is housed in a 130*67*10.9 mm body which can be easily held by one hand.

The Bovo filial sports a Spreadtrum SC8810 processor, clocked at 1GHz. Its internal storage and RAM is unconfirmed, but we can say its at 512MB because it runs ICS.  It has dual camera of 5MP at main and a 0.3MP of VGA camera on front. It is a dual SIM Android supporting TD-SCDMA+GSM network modes. The battery capacity is at 1950 mAh, more than enough to keep the elders from frequent charging.

Only 5000 units was released on its first batch of sales. I guess it wont be hitting the international consumers though.

Beside the processor upgrade, from MT6577 to MT6589; the Changhong Z3S is also now equipped with the latest Android 4.2.1 JellyBean operating system out of the box. It is still a 4.5-inch slab with qHD resoltuion (960×540). Everything is still the same, the battery is still 3200mAh, still have the 512MB of RAM, 4GB ROM memory, 1.3MP+8MP cameras, and dual SIM (WCDMA+GSM) support.

The Changhong Z3S looks good though on its different body style and color. It is available in piano black and elegant black color variations.

The ZTE V967S is kind of similar with the ZTE V987. Only by subtle observation, you can notice the difference in thickness and dimensions. The ZTE V967S is thicker on its 133 × 70 × 9.6mm body (the latter have 9.2mm thickness).

Hardware-wise, the ZTE V967S sports the latest quad-core MT6589 cpu, clocked at 1.2GHz processor and is slated with a 5-inch IPS screen of qHD resolution (960*540 pixels). It is equipped with 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of ROM for internal storage capacity. It has a 5MP snapper on the rear, and a 0.3MP VGA shooter on front.

The ZTE V967S runs on Android 4.2.1 JellyBean out of the box. It is packed with a 2500mAh battery. Other features are microphone with noise-reduction function, HSPA+ support, dual-SIM (WCDMA+GSM) support.

The V987 is priced at $243, while the ZTE V967S is just $178.

The Q&O Q8 is slated with a 5-inch display, with Full HD resolution (FHD 1920 * 1080pixels, 1080p display) and is housed at a very thin 8.4mm body.

It has virtual Android key on screen, yet still have that red capacitive keys. The purpose of this redundancy is unclear, but since these are just leaks, and ahead of the official release; it might be changed. Let’s hope so.

That means more powerful performance we can expect from this phablet. Other key specs is its 1GB of RAM/8GB of ROM size in memory combination, and a 2.0 megapixels front-facing camera.

It runs on the latest Android 4.2 JellyBean OS out of the box, with a scene-style UI. Additionally, the Koobee MAX also supports MHL output, gyroscope and other common sensors. This phablet looks really thin at its 142.7 × 71.9 × 7.8 mm metallic body. Yet without neglecting the battery performance, it is packed with 2000 mAh battery.

KooBee MAX aka Cool Than MAX

The KooBee MAX is priced at 2499 yuan which is approximately equivalent to $403. Do you think its worth it? The HD camera, HiFi features and the 7.8mm thickness? For me it could be better if they have it at 2GB of RAM and the screen is DragonTrail at least.
