Changhong Z-Me – Specs Review: 4-inch Dual Core with HDMI for just 123USD
Another attention grabber with its price, for just $123 you’ll have a Qualcomm-type dual-core device with 4.02″ screen and has support for HDMI-out; in the name of CHANGHONG Z-Me. Sounds new for me, let’s take this phone for a specs review.

I do not know much about the brand Changhong, but even I find the name weird enough, this offer is kinda tempting. For someone with a very tight budget, then this Changhong Z-Me is a good choice, lets find out more why.
The Changhong Z-Me sports a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8255 CPU chip that is clocked at 1GHz speed. It is nicknamed as “speed-king”, I do not know if on what category but with that we can expect that this one is a fast performing phone already.
It runs on Android 2.3.7 GingerBread only, I do not know why its not on ICS or if it will have an ICS update sometime in the future; but let’s hope. It has a pretty nice looking UI as you can see on the photo above.
It has a 4.02 inches screen, it is TFT as stated on the reference pictures but the intention of listing it as IPS by Fastcardtech to grab our attention is pretty much successful. We cannot demand an IPS screen from a price tag like what we have with this one. Screen is a FWVGA at 480 x 854 pixels resolution, which is decent.
It is packed with a 4GB ROM and 512MB RAM. A good set of numbers already, as you can still expand the internal storage with an external SD card supporting at 32GB max size and the RAM is pretty much more than sufficient enough for any type of users, even multi-taskers.
CHANGHONG Z-me
It has dual-camera, from which the main is a 5.0 megapixels with flash and uses a CMOS type image sensor for clearer image captures. The front-facing, secondary camera is a 0.3 MP. Snappers support digital zoom and video recording.
Since it isnt mentioned, it may not be a dual-SIM phone but it supports 3G and is totally unlocked. The HDMI out is a plus feature as you cannot normally get this one from cheap Android phones, and it isnt as well common even for those of higher price.

This will definitely be another hot-sell if it is being sold here locally in our country, as for the people here are looking for cheaper Android phones yet ending up with junks. This one, with its very low price-tag, you’ll get more value for your money.

Hi, nice website you got, I love chinese gadgets since more than 10 years ago when I first bought my first one and I like to know that chinese mobile market is growing up that fast from 1-2 years ago.
Last week I bought 2 Changhong Z-Me for US$100 each, one for me and the other for my girlfriend. I hope they arrive in two weeks in order to be able to tell people how is it.
I really know it is not as powerful as most of the chinese phones which are being released nowadays but I really bought it because it has HDMI mini port and that’s something very interesting for me. I only have a little doubt and it is that I don’t know whether the mobile will be capable of outputting HD resolution like 720p, at least. I wouldn’t want it to output just 480p, would be a pity…

Hi yo!, yesterday I received both Changhong Z-Me phones and they’re so nice.
Now I can say some more things:
The screen is a nice TFT LCD but not IPS as you have said.
It comes with USB cable, chinese plug and some instructions in a very stylish little box.
The video recording is very nice for the price tag, it records 720p video but the bitrate is not that high. Maybe with some other third party program it can reach nicer quality, dunno.
Photos are very nice, my Samsung Spica with 3,2 camera is worse than the same resolution pic in this phone.
The HDMI out works flawlesly and it outputs to 720p, or at least my TV says so. Anyways, I played a 720p movie and I considered it sharper than a standard 480p movie played from PC.
In my to-do list remains the way to install Google Play Store since it comes with Changhong Store, and here in Spain browsing chinese websites is waaay slow so the store ends not working at all.
The second task is to clean every chinese application which remains in the phone, even changing it to english language.
I managed to root it with the program Unlock Root 2.42 very easily(I assume it is the last verson now).
I hope more people with the same needs as me gives a chance to this phone because its specs are really enough for daily use, even playing ;D.
